Define the quotation scope
Searches for OEM dual chamber pen, pen injector OEM, private label injection pen and custom reusable pen can refer to different projects. A logo on an existing housing is not the same as a new cartridge interface or dose configuration. Describe the product pathway before asking for one final price.
State whether the project covers the reusable pen body, dual chamber cartridge, pen needle options, branded carton, tray, instructions or a complete kit. If a 4 mL dual chamber cartridge is included, provide separate powder and diluent volumes and the preparation sequence.
Separate customization levels
Branding and artwork
Logo application, color treatment, labels and carton artwork can be discussed after the standard platform is screened. Provide brand files, color references, language requirements and destination market.
Packaging structure
A custom medical device packaging request may include carton, insert, tray, labeling and patient facing materials. Packaging price depends on structure, artwork, quantity and included components.
Configuration project
Changes to dose range, cartridge geometry, interfaces or functional components are not simple private label work. They require technical review, an evidence path and a different schedule.
Commercial inputs
| Quotation field | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Product scope | Pen only, pen and cartridge, needle, packaging or kit. |
| Expected quantity | Sample quantity, initial order and annual volume. |
| Destination market | Country or region and expected document pathway. |
| Customization | Color, logo, label, carton, tray and configuration changes. |
| Technical inputs | Cartridge status, volumes, dose range and sequence. |
| Timeline | Target sample date and desired production timing. |
Pen injector MOQ and pen injector price should always be read with these assumptions. A reference starting quantity may help early planning, but final MOQ depends on platform, decoration, packaging and order configuration. Lead time also changes when tooling, artwork approval, samples or controlled documents are required.
A low headline price may exclude the cartridge, needle, packaging, artwork, sample work or requested documentation. Ask every supplier to quote the same scope.
Documents and samples
List documents required for supplier review, but do not assume every certificate applies to every project. Ask for holder, scope and relevance. For samples, record the exact configuration, color, cartridge status and purpose. A visual sample is not a validated production configuration.
Compare quotations
- Confirm every quotation covers the same components and packaging.
- Check whether cartridge and pen are a matched project.
- Record assumptions behind MOQ, sample timing and lead time.
- Identify one time artwork, tooling or development costs.
- Check which documents are public, controlled or project specific.
- Do not treat a certificate reference as automatic product approval.
Quotation brief template
A useful first email can be short: product, cartridge status, component volumes, dose requirement, quantity, destination market, color and logo, packaging scope, document request and timing. This gives an OEM supplier enough information to respond with stated assumptions instead of a vague headline number.
